Example of Quick and Simple Marketing Video

Many small businesses or sales people think video marketing is either too expensive or time consuming.  Or they don’t think they can be comfortable on camera.

Not true.  At least based on my experience.  When I chatted with a sales person for a fast growing company, I suggested he consider creating a series of short videos.  The idea was to educate viewers rather than pitch them.  He was intrigued.

Plunging into It

“Let’s do it,” I suggested.  I’ll use my iPhone, shoot a couple of short segments, and add basic production.  He didn’t know what to say.  I suggested he tell consumers something they don’t know.  He had a few ideas, so we tried them.

The short video accompanying this article captures it.  Okay, the sound wasn’t perfect.  Same for lighting.  But sales person, Sam Lane of Pitch Company, got the message across.  Judge for yourself.

When Sam saw the video, he was amazed how easily and quickly it came together.  It’s just one example of one point.  He can share many suggestions for buyers, helping them make informed decisions.  If you know your field, you can, too.

Show Your Expertise

Rather than coming across like a sales person, show your an expert in your field.  Consumers would rather get educated rather than sold.  They like to buy from people who make them feel comfortable.  That’s why you don’t need to come across like a perfect speaker.  Just someone consumers can identify with.  A real person.
